She does seem lost. May Allah forgive and guide her and everyone who is lost.
Certainly it's challenging to practice Islam in this world, but that is true not only in our time, all Prophets and Messengers peace be upon them and those who follow them went through hard times as well.
Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not. Al Baqarah 216
Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you?
They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said,"When is the help of Allah ?" Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near. Al Baqarah 214
Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast? And We removed from you your burden, Which had weighed upon your back And raised high for you your repute.
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].
And to your Lord direct [your] longing. Ash-Sharh
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The Fire is surrounded by all kinds of desires and passions, while Jannah is surrounded by all kinds of disliked undesirable things." Sahih al Bukhari
'A'isha reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is nothing (in the form of trouble) that comes to a believer even if it is the pricking of a thorn that there is decreed for him by Allah good or his sins are obliterated. Sahih Muslim
