do you think parents should be prosecuted for taking their children on holiday during term times?

if that is the law in one's respective country then they have to abide by that law, therefore not break the law

I agree with Sadik, and also point out that parents should not break a childs education on the basis of holidays. Schools work to a system that already includes many holidays.

I wanna be a teacher, why - Christmas, easter and summer (hehe)

Many parents cant afford to take there kids on holiday during the school holidays because the travel agency bump up there prices hugely!

You have no idea how ridiculous that sentence sounds.

It's not upto a government to tell you when you can or cannot go on holiday - it is upto the parents to decide as they are paying for it afterall.
