lol bro i didnt say niqaab is fard, i simply posted sources for to stress the importance. After the jack straw event i felt people might weaken about it and i hoped this will help strengthen the conviction :)

Okey, it seemed from that article that it was saying it was fard.

Anyhow, I dont get one thing, if it is fard then why show the eyes? jus a general question, I mean why would a woman be allowed to show her eyes since she can wear those clothes things that dont show the eyes but she can see out of

its dangerous because it really does restrict the vision and darkens the eyesight, we dont wanna put our sisters in danger :)

:sl:
its just like looking through sunglasses. you can see through the eye covering though not as well in the dark

Akhi, you sound as if you have tried them on?

Its just like the phone booth's in london, like here they have these posters on the phone booths, they seem like a solid poster, from far or even near, but when ur inside and look outside and ur close to the picture, u can see through it cos its not a solid thing, similar to the stuff some sisters wear, its like a net, when ur near it u can see ok, from far though u cant see into it,

then wats the problem, if the sister considers it ok then people shouldnt care if they wanna wear it :)

:sl:

Mash'allah to those sisters who do wear the niqaab, and to those who keep the hijab. :)

:salamext:

At a sheikh Salim al Amary talk that I went to quite recently someone asked if niqaab was fardh. His answer was:

"There are two opinions... so at the most Niqab is fardh, and at the very least it is recommended. So do it.":)

Yeah... exactly. Why not sisters?

:wasalamex

:sl:

 you have? in public??????? :X

:salamext:

palestinian (sort of) headscarfs, not in public because my dear mum wouldnt like it if i did even though i wanted to very much.

If it was rewarding for men to wear it wallahi i would actually ENJOY doing so :)

I read that the prophet (saw) once said that if a woman were to pray without her khimar that would render her prayer invalid.

So I'm thinking, if that's the case, and a woman happens to be out and about without her khimar on, and the time for prayer comes, what's she going to do then? Pull her little napkin scarf out of her backpack/purse and throw it on to pray and then take it back off? That's silly. Why not just keep it on all the time and not be so ashamed of showing the world that you're a Muslim woman?

OK so this is not about khimar but I had to throw that in there lol.

jus wanna stress that the scholars are of the opinion that niqaab is from mustahab to fard, majority votin mustahab ! so please understand that this is only to show the importance, not to show that its fard.

I am not a scholar.

and Allah knows best
