Isn't it strange how......

:sl:

Isn't it strange how

Isn't it strange how Rs. 20/=
seems like such a large
amount when
you donate it , but
such a small amount
when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours
seem so long when
you're at place of worship, and how
short they seem when you're
watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't
find a word to say when
you're praying,
but you have no trouble
thinking what to talk about
with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult
and boring it is to read
one chapter
of the Quran , but how easy
it is to read 100 pages of
a popular novel?

Isn't it strange how everyone
wants front-row-tickets
to concerts or
games, but they do whatever
is possible to sit at the last
row in a holy place?

Isn't it strange how difficult it
is to learn a fact about
God to share it
with others, but how easy
it is to learn, understand,
extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how everyone
wants a place in
heaven, but they don't want
to believe, do, or say anything
to get there?

"We are each of us angels with only one wing.
And we can only fly while embracing each other."

leave any comments inshalah.....

Funny things about Muslims

Funny things about Muslims

Funny how a $100 'looks' so big when taken to mosque, but
so small when taken to the mall.

Funny how long it takes to pray 'TARAWEEH' for an hour,
but how quickly a team plays 90 minutes of soccer.

Funny how long a couple of hours spent at the mosque
seem, but how short they are when watching a movie.

Funny how people can't think of a 'DUA' to say when they
pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a
friend.

Funny how people get thrilled when a football game goes
into extra time, but complain when a 'KHUTBAH' is longer than the
regular time.

Funny how hard it is to read an 'AIATH' in the holy
Quran, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or
concert, but scramble to sit in the back of a mosque.

Funny how hard it is for people to learn the simple
shariah, well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the
same people to understand and repeat gossip.

Funny how people believe what the newspaper says, but
question what is written in the Quran.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do
not have to believe, think, say or do anything.

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail
and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages
regarding Allah, people think twice about sharing.

Re: Funny things about Muslims

y u sayin funny things bout muslims, all muslims r not lyk tht, and those tht are we shouldn't expose theirr faults but hide em 4rm others.

Re: Funny things about Muslims

iv heard those before lol. But I agree with sis Maidah. Not all muslims are like that. The titleof the thread sounds like a huge generalisation

hola,

i think, as a matter of politeness, it is not right to talk about people's faults. but at the same time it is not our responsibility or place to actively conceal them... that is deception. let each person's character be judged according to their own merits, and not upon the facades they construct for themselves or the facades we construct for them...

What you lot chatting about? Whose laughing?

Besides it's not in the halal fun section,

just hope someone learns from it,

or it should be in the bin along with all my threads.

Don't go to the mall to much sis, this life is but temporary,

Why do you fight? I hope that was a joke, I hope things get better between you and bro.

hola,

it is the other way around... i am catholic and he is protestant so we have different beliefs about the morality of wealth, i wish he would be more generous not only with Church but also with charities and other things... he believes that there is nothing sinful about wealth and he believes he gives 'enough' and the rest should be for the future of our family. we do not fight, per se, but it is a point of contention and he knows how i feel about it...

but no, it is not a joke, i truly believe that if people have more then they should give more. money is worthless in and of itself, its worth comes from what you do with it.

It is wrong to expose the fault of others, but in this case it wasn't talking about the faults of others. There weren't even any names.

Personally, I think this is a good article on muraqabah i.e. self-criticism. We should really read about how a good Muslim character chastise himself before others, in order better himself and to reach perfection that is demanded of him.

Funny isn't it?

Another one! This is REALLY true and inspiring!!! please read it!
Funny how $10 looks so big when we take it to masjid and so small
when we take it to the store.

Funny how big an hour serving God looks and how small 60 mintues
are when spent playing golf, fishing or playing soccer.

Funny how laborious it is to read a juzz in the Quran and how
easy it is to read - 2-300 pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how we believe what newspapers say but question what the
Quran says.

Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray and don't
have any difficulty thinking of things to talk to a friend.

Funny how we need 2-3 weeks to fit an islamic event into our
schedule, but can adjust it for a social event at the last moment.

Funny isn't it?
