Re: Riddle thread

Correct. ;D

Your turn.

This isn't a typical riddle, but a nice puzzle anyway...

A long war was being fought between 2 countries. This was at a time when aircraft with guns had only just been developed.

One of the countries found that 80% of the planes they sent out were shot down by enemy aircraft. The 20% which made it back were always badly damaged, all with similar patterns of bullet holes.

The engineers were ordered to place extra armour plating on the aircraft. Unfortunately they were not able to cover the whole aircraft body in armour due to the extra weight. How did they decide where to put the armour?

Put the extra armour on the areas that didn't have bullet holes.
Obviously the holes in the planes that made it back had not caused the planes to crash - therefore those areas don't need additional protection.

Next riddle:

A marathon runner timed himself and found out that if he wore a bright white outfit he ran 20 miles in 80 minutes, but when he wore a dark outfit, he ran 20 miles in one hour and twenty minutes. Which outfit should he wear at his next race?

Re: Riddle thread

It does not matter what he wears because an hour twenty minutes is equivalent to eighty minutes.

Re: Riddle thread

A lock without hinges, key, or a lid, yet inside golden treasure is hid.

Eggs.

My first is foremost legally,
My second circles outwardly,
My third leads all in victory,
My fourth ends twice a nominee,
My whole is this gate's only key.

Love?

First of Legally- L
Second Circles- O
Leads victory- V
Ends Nominee- E

I admit that at first I wrote something like loyve but that didn't make any sense :embarrass

:sl:

What does man love more than life, Fear more than death or mortal strife, What the poor have, the rich require, And what contented men desire, What misers spend, and spendthrifts save, And all men carry to the grave?
