Knowledge is an important thing. I don't have any hadiths to back me up or ayahs (that i can remember), only my own thoughts (based on the problems of pride/arrogance, and seeking knowledge). If anyone disagrees please say so and why, and if anyone agrees please do the same, inshallah so we can learn from one another.

Knowledge comes in many forms:

-A man can learn from the words of allah (quran)
-And his prophet SAW's words
-A man can learn from allah's creation
-an oldman from a young one
-a muslim from a kaafir (always while using your brain that allah gave u ofcourse)
-a young man from an oldman
-a man from a tree or other forms of nature
-a man can learn from his own self
- Even liars tell the truth at times

So brothers and sisters keep an open mind at all times so you may recieve knowledge (with the remembrance of allah on ones mind always), and do not let pride and arrogance (im so and so how is so and so whos so much younger/older/senile than me teach me anything? I've seen it all) shut off your mind from knowledge. For knowledge is not only books. Knowledge that penetrates your heart comes from deep understand and open mind, not from the pages and ink of other people.

The wise man is the one who is guided to fill his time with useful, beneficial and good deeds; thus he will advance and rise in status. So you will find him always seeking knowledge, or writing lessons, or learning a skill, or visiting relatives or a sick person, or advising one who has gone astray, or earning a living so that he can spend on his dependents
 
Jazakallahu khayran brother umar and saifudeen, yanal. I gues i shouldve done some introduction type stuff, but im not good with that.
