Suprised no one has mentioned the bomb blast that struck Pakistan today and killed at least 70 people, injured many more

At least 70 people have been killed and 80 others injured in twin blasts at a military training center in Pakistan's northwestern city of Charsadda.

"Seventy people have been killed," said the police chief of the northwestern Charsadda district, Nisar Khan Marwat.
"Sixty-five of them are from the paramilitary police. Five dead bodies of civilians were taken to Shabqadar hospital," the police chief added.

The death toll is still expected to rise since the injured are reported to be in critical condition and medical items at the city's hospital are in short supply.

Marwat said the attacks occurred when newly-trained cadets, wearing civilian clothes, were getting into buses to go on a 10-day leave after the end of their training course.

This is the bloodiest attack since May 2, when al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was allegedly killed by US special forces in Abbottabad.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the assault. It had vowed earlier to avenge the death of bin Laden by attacking government buildings as well as official figures.

"This was the first revenge for Osama's martyrdom. Wait for bigger attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan," Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told AFP by telephone from an undisclosed location."

This is the very reason why i will never support Al Qaeda
Since when was killing and injuring innocent victims permitted in Islam?
Absolutely disgusting!

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

They argue Bin Laden's killing had broken international law and that figures such as former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic had been given the chance to stand trial. "We maintain that arbitrary killing is not a solution to political problems and crime's adjudication as justice must be seen to be done." The family said they were demanding an inquiry into why Bin Laden was "summarily executed without a court of law" and demanded the release of his three wives and several children, who are believed to be in Pakistani custody.

This I agree with, assuming he truly was unarmed and they knew it and they had the clear option to capture him alive with minimal or no risk of taking fire or him escaping.

The statement also said the US decision to bury Bin Laden's corpse at sea had deprived the family of performing religious rites. A slightly different version of the report was published on a jihadist websites, said the SITE Intelligence Group.
It said US President Barack Obama was "legally responsible" for clarifying "the fate of our father" and that the sea burial "demeans and humiliates his family and his supporters".

This I have no time for. They would have spun this against the US no matter what they did with the body.

Breaking News - Barack Obama Is Dead

By Fahad Ansari

Pakistani officials said Obama was shot in the head after resisting.
Mr Abdullah said "no Muslims were harmed".

Just read this in full. Very good satire by Mr. Ansari. It truly turns the mirror on the US media. The analogy between the CIA and Bin Laden, and that of Obama and Osama are not the most apt (for various reasons) but the bloodthirsty and callous reporting truly shows when they are juxtaposed like this.

thats a gud article !

It really is. Took the time to read it just now and I agree with it in its entirety (minus the reference to writer's religion). He wrote pretty much what I would say. He even starts it off with a reference to the dangers of tribalism ;)

Now where did he get the evidence that those guys attacked the sky scrapers in NY...or is he just swallowing what the media is trying to feed us.

I have said it before and I will say it again.... 9-11 !!! Jews didn't do it, Christians didn't do it, Muslims didn't do it.. It's just a handful of corrupt power-hungry elite who did it. May God curse them
(and everybody involved in the lies) and shame them in front of the whole world. Now say Amen you conspiracy theorists!! LOL

yea he seems to be engaging in same verbal diarrhea.

you think so? I think he has stepped outside his limits.

Are you just saying that because I agree with him? hehe

Seriously though, I am curious in what way you believe he stepped outside his limits. Which limits do you refer to? Are there Islamic limits he is over reaching here?

I think he's just upset that someone who's more trained/has more knowledge than him has an opinion that clashes with his own. Or maybe because the Shaykh happens to be American. It's pathetic really... He even put Shaykh in quotes, as if to question his legitimacy... At least he posted the link to the article so that people could read it for themselves.

I would say it is the ideas and not the one speaking them that matters. But of course Im not a Muslim, so I could be missing the point he was making.

LOL. on fire, baby?

So he is more knowledgeable just because "ooh wow he went to Yale?"

So he is even more educated than the scholars who were born, raised, educated within islamic countries, households and cultures and have an opinion, strongly backed by Quran and Sunnah, and have spent decades and decades learning from great teachers, unlike him who spent only 5-8 years in Medina and is now a "sheikh"? Great.

Yes, Yes-Sir Qadhi might be considered a scholar by American Muslims, but not necessarily by the majority of the Ummah, who surprisingly dont live in America *cough cough* and dont really want to.

I am certain that many years ago, if Bin ladens death was announced, many at LI would have been grateful.
Now it is merely 35 pages of support for him, Hatred of anything non-muslim and a mile high stack of conspiracy, that weeks after the event , with all the evidence presented, still holds fast to peoples prefered reality.

Makes you sad for the future it really does.
