I needed some advice.

My dad always shouts at my mum everyday and at my brother sister and me and makes my mum cry for no reason he has been doing this for half a year now.

Please give me some advice[emoji120]

Welcome to the forum.

Hmmmm.... hard one. The thing is, what goes around in theadult world (especially between parents) is something children will never truly grasp. Chances are, they'd only understand when they themselves become parents, or in this case, a husband or wife. I was once a child and now father. To this day I still wonder how my parents did it? I am suffering and at most times at a loss.

There are many things I can say but not knowing anything at all, the suggestions could have reverse repercussions. All I can say is that your dad must be going through some serious trials and often people would lash out at the ones closest to them, unfortunately in this case, you guys.

All I can say is that you be grown up about this and accept it in the calmest of ways. Respond to him in kindness, say to him words that convey the message you know he is going through tough times and what can you do to make things 'easier' for him? Or if something you are doing that is upsetting him.. say that you have noticed things have turn unpleasant around the house and how we could make it good again..? Keep this mood until he himself will realise his error.

Wishing you a great stay.

Words chosen conveys a message, the thing is it may not be the real situation. In this case the word blackmail..

You are normally blackmailed if you have done something that could be used against you. You get where I am going? So who is really the cause? But we uderstand your dad is propegating the matter.

I thought I replied to this.. but then there was maintenance of this site so maybe it would be added later... I guess I didn't tap the send button..

You say blackmail... usually the word blackmail is used when that person has done something 'wrong' which can be used against that person.. so it leaves more question hanging..
