Human Caterpillars:

It hurts it burns
So I toss and I turn
I’m changing now
I have no clue how
Wrapping myself
In a tight cocoon
I hope this will be over soon
No one said this was easy
But the reward of this is beautiful I’ve heard
I’ll be able to fly like a bird
I’ll be able to look as beautiful as the flowers that graze the land
I will no longer camouflage with the sand
Though everyone is doing that
I feel blind as a bat

I am frightened; will I be accepted after this lengthy procedure?
Will I be considered as arrogant?
Now all I can do is pray, as I lay
In this terrible, but producing cocoon
And now I see a figment of blue sky
Maybe it’ a side affect my mind trying to lie
Is there a possibility that I can die?
A cool breeze aids my sweaty body
I feel larger
I feel massive
I feel kind of fantastic
I feel different
Not meek
I now feel unique
I shake out of my temporary coffin
And my face softens
The world is so beautiful
Now that I have changed
I see life so differently
After I have been saved
Now I see
That all I ever wanted to be
Was the real me
