i have 6 tarantulas. they're not cuddly but they're fine pets and not hard to take care of. i feed mine crickets.
do you have any?

5 camel spiders, 4 tarantulas and 3 Goliath Tarantulas. Those spiders are expensive and its not easy to find them.

we have camel spiders here in the deserts of southern california (we call them wind scorpions). i have tried to catch them but they are just toooo fast. what kind of pets do they make - are they active?
we also have a native tarantula that is pretty mellow - i've caught them - at the moment i have one.
i had a horned baboon spider once that someone gave me as a spiderling. it was pretty cool.

Camel spiders are very active indeed especially in the deserts enviroment. They very fast spider indeed, I pet them when they were very young and they grew fast.

so they are active in the cage? do you keep them on sand? i have a couple of desert scorpions i caught - i keep them on sand. i like them, but they don't do much of anything. (easiest animal i've ever had to take care of)

I only have one pet now. His name is George McMellon. He likes to play on the PC.

Yep he is my incredible, pettable edible.

woodrow,
don't your grand kids have any pets that you can enjoy without taking care of?

Up until recently they had 2 rabbits, a box turtle, 4 cockatiels, a bowl full of triops, a bowl full of sea monkeys, a beta and a hermit crab.

Now they are down to:

3 cockatiels, a bowl of sea monkeys and a female beta.

wow- i had never heard of sea monkeys or triops before and had to search for them on the web. those triops are pretty cute.
beta fish are quite "personable".
i'll pass on the cockatiels though.
