I was thinking we should have another Photography Contest...It was so much fun last time we need another one.

I really liked the previous rules, except this time we should have a maximum of three entries instead of seven though.

Post only the Picture, the Title, the Category you wish to enter under and your User name.



CATEGORIES

Landscapes ( Out door scenery, in which natural formations is the dominant feature)

Urban (this would be city shots/buildings/etc.)

Architecture (Individual buildings, bridges, roads, towers etc are the dominant feature)

Water (could be sea, ocean, lake, or even simply "water")

Nature (plants and flowers come under this)

A concept (hope/joy/peace/etc.)

Unclassified (anything that does not seem to fit any of the above)


Rules:

1. You may enter as few as one picture or as many as you desire. But only a maximum of one picture in each category. Each picture may be entered only once. (The same picture can not be entered in over one category)

2. The contestant decides what category their picture should be entered under

3. Each entry must be titled

4. The entry must be the contestant's original work

5. No pictures of living beings except plants or unavoidable animals (ie a bird flies in front of a tree you are taking a picture of) (This will be clarified further)

6. No photo enhancement allowed except for cropping and minor color correction

7. The judges will remain anonymous except to myself and one judge.

8. Judges are not permitted to enter

9. This Thread will be closed on [date] and no further entries accepted after that.

10. Judging will be completed by [date]



RESPECT THE WORK OF THE CONTESTANTS

Do not copy, snag, save, hot link etc any of the entries without express permission from the photographer. They worked hard and deserve to have their work protected.

I have been waiting for so long time.....and I really liked the previous contest rule.
 
^ I dont like it <_< I like green more :(........it is desert all the year here not something you can enjoy for a season or so.
 
aww sis how about pics of the desert by moonlight? A close up of sparkling sand? The sunsets/rise on the beach? Even cactus hehe. :D


Great idea. I wish I had a decent camera, I would've loved to enter :-\

yh or just plain old majestic sand dunes with the traces of some creatures footsteps/traces.


and i agree that we should be allowed to submit only 3 entries...


we need a dead line and some kind of advertising...

3 entries only? I remerber there were more than that in the last contest, yeah? Or you don't want to fix with those rules?
 
^yeh it was 7 entries for the last contest... They just want to change the amount of entries thats all. Can we higher up to 4?
 
I'm definitely in, support it all the way!

However...There were WAY too many categories last time. I think there should only be about 3 categories, and a limit of 2 submissions per person. This way individual photos get more attention- last time it was a bunch of photos scattered in a bunch of categories and none really stood out.

Plus, I think there should be an 'overall' winner, don't think we had that last time.

okay we need to think of the categories most people want. Only 3 categories remember.

here is my suggestion.
-Landscapes(this could include nature stuff too so we don't really need a nature catergory)

-Water

-Architecture

what do you all say??

water?? :hmm: we dont have water views here lol

what about:
-Landscapes
-Nature: will include everything like water, trees......etc
-Architecture
 
we could also include water and landscapes into the Nature categorie.

What about:

i agree with that (or something similar) as it covers completely different topics...
