Here's some Pictures of Malay sweets for you people out there and for Tania especially

This is the Ondeh Ondeh I was talking about

I think they call this one Angku but its very nice, a pastry with sweet bean paste filling or sometimes coconute filling and coated with sesame seeds

This is an assortment of other sweets made mainly of riceflour

to eat 'dates' is sunnah

anybody heard of this dish 'duudee' ? it is also sunnah to eat duudee.

Thank you for the dishes.Now i can recognize the red chilli sauce from the fish How its called the white kuih which looks like an half egg:?
In the second pics the sweets are looking like jelly

The half egg ones? You mean these? :?

Well it's some kind of pudding with a slice of banana in the middle of it basically....

And the jelly looking stuff, some of it is clear agar agar, and some of it is different type of custard like sweets made from rice flour and coconut milk.

Mawaddah In this pics i see them better must be yummy.
This thread is one from the best threads because we can actually learn about different countries food. For sure i will recognize the kuih and not to mention about this not turkish kebab:uhwhat

yup..malaysia has alot of variety of kuih...(sweets)

and now there are so many kuih 'raya' selling on the streets (and i am one of those people :giggling: :giggling ...well you may actually call it eid cookies...

In Penang, people are selling kuih raya... 3 boxes for RM10.00 .... but it taste like dust!!!:giggling:

I eat the rice but VERY PICKY when it come to the 'lauk' (dishes).kay:

The rice is cooked in lot of dishes. The CLAYPOT FRIED RICE its cooked in a pot made from clay or from where is coming his name:?
The kuih raya were not posted by sis Mawaddah, right:? because those looks delicious not with dust taste :-[

^ No, he said that it tastes like dust because they dont care to prepare it properly......but if the kuih is made properly I'm sure they taste really nice
