Hello everyone, Im a muslim that never really cared about islamic rules and law. i only do 5 times and fasting during ramadhan and thats all there is.

These past week there has been severe debate about husband duty towards wife in my local country and language. For information, Im not from arabic country, nor do i came from the west. Somebody suddenly told us that these fiqh is the right fiqh, and it was directly contradicting to the usual law that we know about islam, be it from quran, hadits, even itjima.

it was unclear how the discussion started, but the point being :
- husband are not obliged to provide skincare for wife

this point alone is not severe especially if the husband is in tight spot whereas skincare price can be pricey sometimes. but it goes deeeeeeper

- wife are not obliged to feed mothers milk to her children, it is the duty of the husband to feed his children.

this too isnt severe but it became a bit controversial because on one side, if mother are not obliged to feed her child, why would god gave the mother ability to produce milk, not the father? but sometimes the milk doesnt come out so it is understandable. the thing is,

- husband only obliged to give wife food 3 times a day and clothes 3 pieces A YEAR, this is all for the nafkah. nothing else, no skincare, nothing. house belong to the husband so the husband does everything, cleaning the house cleaning the clothes, the wife are there only to make babies and eat.

the most controversial of this being
- paying bills is not the duty of the husband, because it is not written in mazhab
- if wife have debt, it is not the duty of the husband to pay it
- if wife passed away, the duty to take care of the remains fell to the father or relatives
- if wife fell ill, husband has no duty to pay for drugs

it is now being told that this person follow Hambali/Hanbali Mazhab/Sect

and the slice of the argument he gave were as follow

honestly i can read this but im not sure the meaning even after it was being translated by google

one of the piece was later found out to come from this book

i honestly have no idea what it says over here. from what i interpret, it seemed that the deceased doesnt have money. i dont know how to read this book, if this book is a compilation of hadith or story, each page held different story, or if this book is a continuous story without breaks. I'm not too sure if this book is al-rawd al-murabba or al-rawd al-murbi. I have tried to find the explanation about the mazhab or about the rules on the internet but it seemed that they are almost non-existent.

the question is, the most pressing question since the original poster is keen on this rules, and he kept pressing women in debate to agree with him. these are like, a group of men trying to push this narratives towards a group of women here

1) is this like, heretical sect?
2) how important these rules are towards muslim that these rules needed to be obeyed, because theyre really good at installing nonexistent fear during the debate, with gaslight and all
3) what is the actual meaning of these slice of words and where did it come from

I would like to hear your opinion about this, especially from fellow muslim from all over the world, because these things really made us anxious, and more women has began to stray further from islam and ceased to hope for marriage life in the near future.

thank you so much for reading this thread, looking forward to hear from you
