I have a unique little question here. But first, Salam Alaikum!

Now, here's a scenario. I am praying zuhr. I pray the 4 raka's, and then 4 sun'as. Later, I either forgot to pray asr, or I simply could not pray asr. Can I make the intention to count the 4 sun'as that I prayed earlier as asr?

I have heard some where that you can pray asr and isha'a beforehand if you KNOW you will not be able to pray later on.

Does this make sense?

Thanks. Jazakullah.

The best thing to do is to ask a scholar/imam. But I don't really think it works. You know the 'Niya' (intention) should be BEFORE the prayer, I the intention after the prayer make no sense. For example : If I don't want to give sadaqa today, but when I went home, I found that somone stole my wallet and took all my money. And now, after the money is gone I make the intention that It was sadaqa. That won't be correct. The work without intention has no meaning. And making (or changing) intention after the action is done has no effect.
But Bro, that's only my opinion, and the right answer can be given by a scholar or a learned person.

Just a question : Does he never take this helmet off ?

Salaam Alaykum;

Can I make the intention to count the 4 sun'as that I prayed earlier as asr?

to my knowledge , u should make the intention before the salat . So , if u forgot to offer asr , then do it later . What u offered as noon salat , won't be considered as Asr and Allah Knows Best.

you can pray asr and isha'a beforehand if you KNOW you will not be able to pray later on.

I heard that if environment is hostile and u fear that salat can take ur life , then u are allowed to offer it in advance in a safer place . But in a normal situation , don't make it as your habbit just to go to cinema in time or friend's res etc.

hahaha you cheater, it all depends on the intention, if you've prayed with that intention then obviously you can't change it

but for instance lets say your intention before was to pray 4 rakas zuhr then 4 rakas of asr, but instead of praying 4 rakas asr you pray 4 sunnah, then I think you can change it cause before you made the intention you already had that intention to pray those certain raka's

yes you can combine zuhr with asr and magrib with esha before hand, but with the correct intention, in your case it wasn't accidental that you made the wrong intention, so I dout you can just modify you're intention to suit you
