Hello everyone! First things first, I am a college student here to learn about Islam for a final project in a Humanities course I am taking. As a requirement of the project, I was to first come up with ten standard questions to ask someone of the faith chosen (I chose Islam, of course!:D). I will be extremely grateful for any assistance with this end of the assignment that all of you can help me with. I would be particularly interested if there are any spiritual leaders of Islam in this forum that would answer these questions. I personally hope to end this assignment with a better knowledge and appreciation of Islam. And, of course, please feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

QUESTIONS
1. What are the important holidays and traditions of this religion?

2. How has religion shaped your life?

3.What are the challenges, if any, to practicing this particular religion?

4.How do the teachings affect your day to day life?

5.How do the teachings influence your view of the future?

6.How does this religion approach the idea of life after death?

7. What place in society does this religion have (i.e. a good neighbor, helping hand)?

8.Were you always a member of this religion? If not, why did you join? If so, what compels you to stay?

9.What, specifically, was the defining moment when you realized this religion is your path?

10. What future do you see for this religion?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, thank you for your time and I hope to learn a great deal from this!
