Quiz: What Sort of Muslim Are You?

What role does Islam play in your life? One's faith is often difficult to put in words, let alone in general categories. Most Muslims will find that these categories do not make room for the complex role Islam plays in their life. But, hey, we're already stereotyped -- why not add a couple more? Take this Beliefnet quiz to be categorized, generalized, and pigeonholed. Then, let us know what you think. Who knows, we might actually be right.

You are a progressive Muslim.
You are a devout believer in God, and Islam is your direct path to Him. You understand Islam mainly through your intellect. You probably interpret Islam historically and might believe that ijtihad should be reopened. You have probably gone through years of questioning to come to the understanding of Islam that you have now. You might receive criticism for what are perceived as your open views.

Well I am a very different kind of Muslim. I believe that all humans are the creation of the same Allah. We should respect and love all those humans who care and help others. We should prove from our actions if we've some good qualities. We should learn from others good things and if we find some bad traditions among ourselves, then we shouldn't argue to defend those. We should always have a single standard for the judgment. Any thing good should be appreciated no matter who does that good. Similarly anything bad should be condemned no matter who does that.

I'm betting most will be progessive or other of that sort and very few will be traditionalists. That's how muslims are today, more relaxed on islam....

You scored 4, on a scale of 0 to 60. Here's how to interpret your score

You are a secular Muslim.
You are a cultural or secular Muslim. You might identify yourself with the Muslim community, but like Kareem Abdul Jabbar, you have no problems with beer commercials. Islam provides you with more of a social setting or community than a set of religious beliefs. You may live by many of the basic principles of Islam, but you do not necessarily choose to attribute them to Islam. You are probably not too comfortable with many of the social restrictions often associated with Muslim organizations or societies.

:giggling:

:sl:

You are a traditional Muslim.
You are steadfast in your religion. The Qur'an plays a role in your daily life as a Muslim. You also look to the sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) as a way to determine how to live your life. You are constantly aware of your religious beliefs and are likely to spend time thinking of the larger Muslim Ummah and how to create more unity within it.
