خدع – يخدع (ف) خِدعاً و خَدعاً
1. He hid or concealed and from it the treasure is called المُخدع (almu/ikhda3u) (Ibne Faaris)
2. He deceived, deluded and tried to harm someone in a way unknown to the latte.
3. He pretended to him contrary to what he intended.

USAGES IN ARABIC :

- خدع الضب فى جحره
The lizard entered the hole to hide itself .
- خدع المطر
It seemed to rain a lot but it deceived and rained a little i.e much less than expectation.
- خدعت السوق
The market deceived i.e. looked bullish but became bearish

- خدعت الامور
The things were unpredictable and turned out what was expected.
- خدعت الشمس
The sun disappeared.
- خدع الطريق
The way (path) deceived that it vanished.


OTHER DERIVATIVES

اخدع(akhada3a)
To incite someone to deceive.

خادعsimilar in meaning to خدع
الخادع-فا
طريق خادع
Path or way which sometimes appears and ,sometimes disappears.
دينار خادع
That deenaar which looks valid apparent but fake when checked.

الخيدع ( alkhayda3u)
1. That person whose friendship cannot be trusted because of the fear of being deceived by him
2. That pathway which does not lead you to your destination
3. Mirage in the desert because it deceives.


المخدّع(mukhadda3u)

The person who has been deceived again and again.

SOME QURANIC VERSES IN WHICH THIS WORD IS USED.

وَإِن يُرِيدُواْ أَن يَخْدَعُوكَ فَإِنَّ حَسْبَكَ اللّهُ هُوَ الَّذِيَ أَيَّدَكَ بِنَصْرِهِ وَبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿8:62﴾
(8:62) And should they seek to deceive you, Allah is sufficient for you. *45 He it is Who strengthened you with His succour and the believers


يُخَادِعُونَ اللّهَ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلاَّ أَنفُسَهُم وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴿2:9﴾ (2:9) They thus try to deceive Allah and the Believers, but they succeed in deceiving none except themselves and they realize it not


إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يُخَادِعُونَ اللّهَ وَهُوَ خَادِعُهُمْ وَإِذَا قَامُواْ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَى يُرَآؤُونَ النَّاسَ وَلاَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللّهَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً﴿4:142﴾
(4:142) Behold, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is they who are being deluded by Him. When they rise to Prayer, they rise reluctantly, and only to be seen by men. They remember Allah but little
