Ramadan and athletes

It may sound surprising, but some people actually gain weight in Ramadhan! There is a tendency to make special dishes and over-eat upon breaking the fast and during the pre-dawn meal, so this can cause weight gain. For someone who is concerned about being underweight, perhaps their diet can be managed such that they have a high calorie intake during the meal times - just a thought. Anyone who is worried about their health can always consult with a doctor as well as an Imam and reach a decision after that. And Allaah :swt: knows best.
