So how did you spend your first day of Ramadan? and what did you break your fast on?

This day went rather fast (for me) I was sleep deprived for a few days, and though we had guests today I could barely keep my eyes open..
I woke up 15 mins shy of breakfast.. we had a feat but I wasn't very hungry.. to be honest I still want to sleep some more.. it is catching up with me the deprivation of the past two weeks...

we had rotisserie chicken today, some spinach burek?

It was neutral for me as I was restless the whole day,anxious...I tried to sleep but did more to serve Allah. Alhumdulilah. Feels good to fast. I simpily broke my fast with a Kajoor. After a while,I ate my dinner. Alhumdulilah, anxiously waiting Iftaari...

JazakAllah Khayr for asking:)

oh lol.. sounds like a delightful name for a girl or a cat..
eat something wholesome for sihoor insha'Allah

:w:

I was happy just about all day, spent alot of time with my Algerian friend who is teaching me things and helping buil our house. Did some cementing in fire place, housework etc etc. Broke fast with dates and ate chicken and soup Algerian style, prayed Isha with my two sons hamdulillah.

sounds like an honest good day.. I like when people spend Ramadan as they would any regular day but only wiser..
I have been to places where folks spend all day in front of soaps and all night stuffing themselves... it is unfortunate..

:w:

Yes a normal day with the added bonus of doing something special for Allah, its first time I fully understand Ramadhaan and I really love it. Trying to get sunnah right inorder to become better Muslim when its over insha'Allah

I didn't understand Ramadan fully until recently myself and I was born Muslim.. I suspect, it will evolve even more as one grows sage and wise..
I wish you every blessing this Ramadan Tony (and the ummah)
do share pix of your food if you can lol.. visual aid helps..
usually the Malaysians beat us with their dazzling sites and foods from their towns..

I want to see some Ramadan pictures insha'Allah

:w:

I am afraid to google the 2009 photos lest I end up seeing more offensive material against Muslims.. :hmm:

sorry I am abit rubbish at the photo posting thing, I think I might learn today insha'Allah

:haha: sounds promising.. can't wait to see how those turn out..

:w:

I opened my iftaar with dates and roohafza then prayed.

This is what Roohafza looks like with milk.
