Ameen dearest sister. Alhamdulillah we did, and may you enjoy yours inshaAllah.

I haven't the faintest clue I'm afraid lol. Sorry I'm not much help...

It isn't a problem at all dear sis.. I'll try to work it out later insha'Allah..

that is exactly what it looks like no pretenses along with some rice (I hope) my mom has a thing against rice but when she makes it 'non-basmati' she is so exquisite at it..
I like Basamati but she can never cook it right for some reason.. I should probably not say that though :(
I'm not fond of rice either. Don't know the difference between basmati and other rice, they all taste the same to me. :><:

I'd take the fish alone with plenty of ketchup and roti/chapatti.

the difference is grave :haha: kidding..rice is amazing.. and how terrible to add ketchup to food unless you are a little kid.. my niece could ruin a succulent chicken tandoori with ketchup just because she thinks she has to have sauce on everything.. a shame ..

ok now I am winding down and getting hungry and clearly not being productive :(

Has anyone put this disclaimer yet?

DISCLAIMER: Do NOT read this thread if you are fasting!

Fish smells

tell me about it.. and for something that spends its lifetime in water there is no excuse.. it is actually one of the reasons I am locked up in my room, the minute I go out there and brave it I am committed .. will bathe after eating insha'Allah for isha'a

food odor is one of the reasons I despise cooking.. I need everything to smell of fresh laundered linens and delicious perfumes.. don't know how women can stand themselves after they cook it clings to everything, hair clothes you name it..

It seems my mom just ground the ta3mya for a later date and put it in freezer bags, I have been in my room working so I didn't know until the stench of fried tilapia hit me.. my parents are really found of that fish.. so that is what we are having today insha'Allah

yup with the head on and all

we always have home made falafel but I only like bought falafel, how is that for an ingrate?

woh! thats like me frying a goat and serving it on a plate :D
how are you meant to eat that?

lol, you just eat it with a fork, and avoid the bones. im not a fish fan, and especially i hate eating fish that has bones.. it takes away the taste especially when you are bothered with taking out the bones when you are trying to enjoy it. i stick to shrimps as my fav seafood :D

tell me about it..
you ought to watch that movie Julie and Julia.. it starts with a fried fish with bones .. bwahahaha
they teach you how to eat it too..

From past few days, my appetite just disappeared, im barely eating anything for Iftar, or for dinner. Hopefully it is a good thing towards my health. :/ One of the reasons for Ramadan/Fasting is suppose to give our stomachs a rest after all eh.

My appetite never disappears :D

Although, I somehow manage to not go overboard every night, so I can still go to Taraweh :p

Wow, I've never heard of tilapia before *learns second new thing*

Umm..this may be a silly question, but the head doesn't actually get eaten, does it?

Coincidently, I had "Gulai Kepala Ikan" (Snapper Fish head curry) for my ofthar two days ago :statisfie

Here how it looks like:

And here's the recipe: http://www.asianonlinerecipes.com/online_recipes/indonesia/fish-head-curry.php

Snapper fish head curry is one of the most popular Indonesian delicacies (as well as very popular in Malaysia). Did you know that the meat (and other bits) around the fish head is very tender and succulent?
hmm... yuummyy..!
On that note... I am sort of regretting writing this post while fasting :p

I ought to try it sometimes.. it is an expensive fish in my game, is it also in real life?

Hahaha, Animal Crossing was great :p it's been so long since I've played it though...

Weren't they worth like 3000 dollars? I remember making a ton of quick cash by selling them to Nook :p

They're about 4000, certainly not the most expensive but easier to catch than the other stuff..
still waiting to catch a ceolocanth and those pesky tarantulas and scorpions
