Recitation of long Surah's during Tahajjud salah

Assalamu'alykum wa Rahmathullah,

I have Alhamdulillah started memorising from the Qur'aan, but I have not yet learnt any long surahs. I want to start praying Tahajjud with long surahs,, but as I don't yet know any by memory, is it permissible for me to recite by holding a copy of the Qur'an whilst in salah?

I think this is permissible to hold a copy, however you may want to ask your local imam - or look in the section of numbers of sheikhs in the forum.
