Hello, everyone. A friend of mine is a Muslim and lives in the Russian backwaters. He has found his way into Islam by the very innate spiritual urge for Islam that is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an. He knows Modern Standard Arabic and Qur'anic Arabic (in short, العربية الفصحى) quite well, studies العربية الفصحى and the Qur'an, prays in العربية الفصحى, recites Qur'anic verses aloud. However, the average Russian's attitude towards Islam, much more so in the really backwater provinces, is that of Trump, Katie Hopkins, the AfD, Front National, you name it - basically what is known as the far right to Nazi attitude throughout the West. I think I don't need to name the clichés in particular, we all know them all too well. So my friend suffers quite an amount of hatred on a daily basis. The people around him treat him as if he were the next Osama bin Laden. Some probably think he is, for example, some of the neighbours who hear him reciting something in Arabic occasionally. He is anything but that, doesn't think much of Wahhabism and other radical movements and knows jihad is a struggle against one's own inner negative tendencies, not a war against other people who are not Muslims. But the people around him don't realize any of that, so neither of us considers even his murder for Islamophobic reasons something impossible or even improbable. He is lonely, has very few real friends, feels desperate and threatened, suffers mental disorders of the depressive kind. Now he considers appealing for a refugee status in a Muslim country as a victim of Islamophobia and Islamophobic persecution, which he most certainly is, only that the persecution is not (yet) carried out by the state, but by common people. To him, getting out of there is a matter of long-term mental and perhaps even bodily survival. Now the two questions both of us have:
1. Which Muslim (preferrably Arabic) countries receive people suffering because of their Islam as refugees?
2. What does one have to do to obtain a refugee status in one of them?

It seems certain that he must emigrate as soon as he possibly can to safeguard his mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Unfortunately I am not knowledgeable in the inns and outs of him being able to apply for refugee status in specific countries but can he try and move to a more Muslim area within Russia? Also how about the Muslim countries around Russia like Dagestan, Chechenya, Uzbekistan, Khazakstan etc which maybe easier for him to emigrate to? I know Turkey has taken in a lot of Syrian refugees so maybe he can look into that?

Ask of him to beg if Allah for assistance especially in the latter part of the night after Tahajjud and know that Allah will open doors for him. So tell him to be firm in having hope, trust, faith and reliance in Allah.

Has he tried majority muslim countries? even if these countries are secular, the people still care about muslims in his situation. I wanted to name countries but I am not entirely sure, inshaAllah you can look them up yourself.

1.It is permissible for you to do the essential parts and obligatory parts of the prayer whilst sitting or lying down, making gestures to indicate bowing and prostrating.
2.It is permissible for you to put two prayers together if it is not possible for you to offer each prayer at its own time, or if there is sufficient time for you to offer two prayers together when you are in the best state with regard to purity, clothing and being able to do the essential parts and obligatory parts. So you could put Zuhr and ‘Asr together at the time of either of them, and put Maghrib and ‘Isha’ together at the time of either of them. This is a concession granted by sharee‘ah to everyone who is in a situation such as yours. In fact, if you are unable even to do this and you cannot offer each prayer at the right time even if you are sitting or lying down, or by gesturing, and you are not able to put two prayers together in the manner described, then you should offer whatever you can at the proper time, and for the prayers that you miss, you can offer them at whatever time is easy for you, when you are away from where your family can see you.
3.If you cannot do wudoo’ or ghusl, then tayammum is acceptable in your case as an alternative to them.
4.It is permissible to you to interrupt the prayer if you are afraid that any of your family members will see you praying.
5.It is permissible for you to pray in a clean bathroom if you cannot find any other place in which to pray.
6.The supplication (du‘aa’) when bowing and prostrating does not have to be in Arabic, unlike the phrases that are prescribed in the prayer. So you can offer supplication in your own language regarding matters of this world and the Hereafter.
