Lately, I’ve been trying to improve my daily routines — both in coding practice and in personal life. One small habit that helps me stay consistent is reading before bedtime. For example, I keep Surah Mulk saved on my device as a PDF so I can easily access it every night: https://surahmulkpdf.net.

I’ve found that having resources handy makes it easier to follow through on daily commitments. What tools or resources do you use to stay disciplined with your routines — whether it’s coding, studying, or personal growth?

Salah always regulates my day. I find that it is the single most important aspect of my daily life on which everything revolves. Salah brings inner peace, discipline, and regulates eating, sleeping, and hygeine.

I'm also a computer programmer. One thing that helps me a lot, especially reading programming books, is the Pomodoro Technique. You set a timer for 25 minutes, break for 5 minutes, and after three breaks you take a long 15 minute break.

This helps me to focus for hours and hours on end without getting burnt out. It is fitting that you mention this, as our Deen makes us disciplined and encourages intellectual pursuit and success in education. Our Deen forbids intoxicants and commands us to seek knowledge.

In many ways, Islam makes us into intellectuals. By obligating soberness and encouraging study, it makes us into sober and reading people. This is something we take for granted in a world full of intoxicants like alcohol and drugs, Haram entertainment, and attention-frying social media.
