REVIVE A SUNNAH ⇨ "BE AS STRANGER/TRAVELLER IN THIS WORLD" ✦
It is narrated by Mujahid (radiyAllaahu 'anhu) that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (radiyAllaahu 'anhu) said, "Allah's Apostle (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) took hold of my shoulder and said, 'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler."

The sub-narrator added: Ibn 'Umar used to say, "If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death."

[Bukhari: Book 8 Vol 76 Hadith 425]

Let's revive this thread and revive a Sunnah!

Using Miswaak:

Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him), who reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Were it not for the fact that I did not want to make things too hard for my ummah, I would have commanded them to use the siwaak at every time of prayer.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2/299 and Muslim, 1/151). According to another report narrated by al-Bukhaari, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “…at every time of making wudoo’.”

1. When making wudu
2. At night
3. Upon entering home
4. While fasting
5. Before Prayer

Who's gonna go Eid shopping?? Let's revive a sunnah and magnify the reward before stepping into the market place!

The messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever enters the market and says: "None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is living and does not die. In His hand is all good and He Omnipotent over all things." ..Allah will wipe a million bad deeds from his record and grant him a million good deeds, and will elevate him a million degree (of virtue)- ([and will build him a house in paradise] in another narration).

laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lah-ul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, yuḥyee wa yumeetu wa huwa ḥayun laa yamootu, bi yadi-hil-khayru, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer

Simple and easy, right? Do this when you're buying gifts for Eid, grocery shopping for Iftar/Suhoor, or even filling your car tank with gas (petrol).

It's yaum al-Jummah! There are soooo many sunnan we can do for today. Below, I've listed 15. You may pick and choose which you would like to do for today...but I challenge you to do all 16!

Sunnah & Acts of Jummah day:
1 - Bathing (Ghusl) on the day of Jumumah (Bukhari 1951)
2 - To wear nice clothes (Abu Dawood,)
3 - Use perfume, and use the Miswaak. (Ibn Majah)
4 - Going early to Jumuah Prayer (Bukhari 929 & Muslim 1964 )
5 - Walking to Masjid for Jumuah Paryer (Al-Tirmidi, 496)
6 - If the Saffs (rows) are already filled, one should not jump over the shoulders of the musallies in order to get to the front. (Abu Dawood)
7 - Try to sit as close as possible to the Imam. (Majah, Tirmidhi)
8 - Listening attentively to Khutba (Sermon) (Bukhari 934)
9 - Making a lot of du’aa’. [al-Bukhaari, 893; Muslim, 852]
10 - Reading Soorat al-Kahf (Before sun sets on Friday). [Saheeh al-Targheeb, 836]
11 - Visiting the Sick & Attending Muslims Funeral [Trimidhi]
12 - Seek the Hour: Rasulallah (Pbuh) said: “There is such an hour on Friday that if any Muslim makes dua (Supplication) in it, his dua will definitely be accepted(In Between Asar & Magrib).” (Bukhari, Muslim)
13 - Sins Forgiven: The five daily prayers, and from one Jumuah to the next, are an expiation for whatever sins come in between, so long as one does not commit any major sin. (Muslim, 233)
14 - the Light (Noor): “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday, light shall shine forth for him between the two Fridays.” (Ibn Hajar, Talkhis al- Habir)
15 - Increase your Durood (example: Durood Ibrahim) “Recite Durood upon me in abundance on the day of Jummah since they are presented to me.” (Ibn Majah)
16 - Clipping nails and trimming hair - (could not find hadith)

Say Salaam when entering home sweet home!

Al-Tirmidhi (2698) narrated that Anas ibn Maalik said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to me, ‘O my son, when you enter upon your family and say salaam, it will be a blessing for you and the members of your household. Al-Albaani said in Takhreej al-Mishkaat (4652): this hadeeth is hasan when all its isnaads are taken into account.

Bump

I was thinking to start the thread regarding forgotten sunnah, Alhamdulillah I found it.

Simplicity in nikah:

Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam): “The most blessed nikah is the one with the least expenses.” [Bayhaqi]

Early to bed and early to rise:

It's against sunnah to talk after isha salah.

Abu Barzah :ra: reported:
The Messenger of Allah ‏:saws:‎ would offer the Zuhr prayer when the sun had passed the meridian; he would offer 'Asr prayer after which one of us would visit the skirts of Medina and return him while the sun was still bright; I forgot what he said about the Maghrib prayer; he did not fear postponing the Isha prayer until a third of night had passed, or he said: until the midnight had passed. He would dislike sleeping before it or talking after it. And he would offer the Fajr prayer when a man could recognize his neighbor whom he recognized well; and he would recite from sixty to a hundred verses during it.

Greeting Children:

Anas (Radiyallahu Anhu) reported that he passed by some children and greeted them and said: “The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) used to do this.”
