salaam, wrote this some time ago for a radio show, i thought i should send some love to my sisters. its not great but... meh
Roses are red,
Hijabis stay true,
There scared,
So they wanna ban you.
You’re a sign of freedom, and there scared of you,
When you walk by, there face turns blue,
You’re a soldier on a battlefield,
Fighting t’ill your last breath,
For the rights that Allah gave you,
You’re a revolutionary,
And yet they wanna ban you,
You act the Haq and obey Allah’s laws,
But they still wanna find flaws,
You’re a symbol of liberation,
You’re above nudity and humiliation,
And no matter what they say you stay true,
Even the way they looked at you,
But you take it in your stride,
Coz you’re raised from a nation of the best,
Don’t let anybody tell you no less,
You’re dawah walking,
You’re a diamond talking,
You’re our mothers, sister, wives and daughters,
And they tell you, you’ll never be enough,
Until you take your hijab off,
Tell’em to shut it up,
They hating on you coz you wont commit adultery,
They wanna get to you, first there gonna have to get through me,
And if they spill my blood, so let it be,
They say their plans to liberate,
But we know they wanna rape,
You with there eyes,
Bring your demise,
And sell your soul to hell,
And some may call you backwards,
But I call you sisters,
Standing up shoulder to shoulder against your oppressors,
Not the bearded,
But the industries that call for your nudity,
Size 9’s, D cups and Gucci,
Leaders that ban your modesty,
Treat you like dirt, when they should treat you like queens,
I see you in jannah in my dreams.
