Assalamu alaykum wa'rahma-tullahi, wa'barakatahu,
new here. just saying hello.
and for the record; i'm an older Amercian gent who reverted to Islam close to 8 months ago. i reside in Tukwila, Washington and usually attend the SeaTac Massajid. (although sometimes i'm at Masjid Towa in Seattle or the Bellevue Masjid; OR the Idris Mosque in Nothgate)
my sons, Joe & Todd, are in their late 20's; and i have 2 grandsons, Jalen & Koa. they all reside in New Hampshire to be near their mother and my ex-wife.
i reside in/near Seattle to be FAR from my ex-wife!
i work for a company that shuttles folks to and from doctor visits. and if you've never driven 'round here, you just don't know how tough the driving can be...BUT, that is also how i met ALOT of Muslims and eventually led me to returning to worshipping Allah Subhannahoo Wa Ta' Alla (Alhumdulillah!!!); so i'm not really complaining about it!
i DO get to discuss Islam with a number of people, especially those that new me before my "reversion". i started wearing Pakistani chamise's to work because most Muslims didn't believe i was a Muslim, at least until i would press play on the cd player and they would hear some nasheeds or the Holy Qur'an!
my health is horrible, but if it's more of a blessing because when one knows one's time is limited, one tends think a tad more about the "unseen"!
i am looking forward to reading and posting on a board frequented by Brothers & Sisters in Islam!!!!!!
oh, i'm really dyslexic so unless i find a spell check...well, just be forwarned!
Wasalam,
Brother Yusuf
