when reading Salah - does it also apply to women when they says the trousers should be above their ankles??? or can their trousers/clothes touch the ground?

Rule for women is different. Your clothes must touch the ground and do not wear trouser during salah, that is man's clothes. If you are in work and you wear trouser, you can wear special clothes for salah over your clothes during salah.
Here an example of special clothes for salah.

This rule of the Trouser being 2" above the ankles is only for men and not for women, as a matter of fact it is advised for women to even cover their feet.
