This is not something I remember covering at TMZ. So in Islam is Satan a fallen angel who is rebelling against Allah? Also does Satan rule hell like he does in Christianity.

If yes: Then, why is Satan doing Gods work. Satan is running hell which is where God sends people to when they are bad sinners why would Satan do Allah's work by making hell unpleasent?

Satan isn't a fallen angel, that concept is in christianity. Satan is from a race of living beings what is known in arabic as 'Jinn'. Kind of like an evil spirit, but not all jinns are evil. They (jinns) are created from fire and they are living like us amongst us but we can't see them but they can see us. Some follow religions as some are Jewish, some are christians, some are muslim etc. Jinns usually live in places which are quiet and far from human beings such as in forests or deserts maybe.

Satan does not rule hell, Almighty God does because everything belongs to Him. The guardian of the gates of hell is an angel and satan will be thrown in hell on the day of ressurection.

Satan is NOT a fallen Angel, He was from the creation of Jinn who was elevated to the level of Angels by the will of Allah SWT and it was only his pride and arrogance that allowed him to fall to lowest of lows.

Only Allah SWT has control of both Heaven and Hell and All of creation from the heavens to the earth.

I have a question, have any of you read Dante Allegari(?) "Inferno"? Its about how he goes through the different levels of hell and he explains the different punishments of the sins the souls have committed in those 9 circles, and he goes all the way down to circle 9 where satan is and explains how satan is like and how he looks like supposedly (?) . My question is, are there different levels of hell in a Muslim hell? And how satan is viewed as from an Islamic point of view?

Thanks~

There is a story which is apparently in some of Al ghazali's works that Isa (a.s) tried to get satan to repent and all he had to do was get him to bow down before the grave of Adam(a.s.) and he refused.

It should be said that one idea that has really crept into Christianity is this idea that "God" is the good god and that Satan is the evil god.
Muslims should reject it totally.

In fact in some places there are people who even worship satan as a form of rebellion from Christian theology.
(Imo one of the reasons for this is the question of "if god is good then why does bad thing happen", to which the answer is that the creation of evil is not evil in itself but the choice of evil is evil.)

As far as we are concerned Dante was a plagiarist, and a extremely miserable one at that.

His inspiration for "Inferno" was the event of Isra wa Miraj, when the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) was shown the glory of the heavens and the earth, he was shown heaven, hell, and the angels etc.

Dante was such a vile and sick person that instead of giving a token of credit, he stated in his inferno that the Prophet (pbuh) was among those in hell, this insult to the beloved Messenger of God, will inshallah earn Dante his seat in Jahanum.

As for your question, the answer is yes there are 7 levels in Hell, and it is a extremely large place.

Shaytan (satan) is the open enemy of Mankind from the start of creation. God has given him permission till the day of Judgment to tempt human beings, and those that disobey God will join him in hell. Shaytaan will thus try everything in his power to divert a person away from Islam, and the worship of the Creator.
