Shahada intention and faith issue

What if one who has commited an act that puts them beyond the pale of islam (kufr,shirk) but wants to take the shahada with the intention of coming back to islam, but the heart doesnt feel anything? Are they a muslim again or not?

We are all weak!
So it is an easy excuse to fail.
