Should I change my name? Is It Haraam?

Assalamu Alaaikum,

I hope you are all well.

I am a 39 year old Muslim man from Malaysia and just wanted to know
my name in real life is Genghis Khan. I was given this name by my father since birth.

Is it a evil name or a Haraam name? Will it affect my worldly life or
Afterlife? If it is Haraam or a bad name or going against Islam
Allah SWT and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

I will change my name I just need advice or clarification.

I cannot call it haram/halal but doesn't sound good because this guy genghis wasn't a cool person in history.

Not sure if the name itself is haram. It's just a name that has history behind it. I think he was an honourable and great leader.

I had a friend who's family name is Shakespeare, guess what? His parents actually gave him William as his first name. The parents might have had fun, but I pitied the bloke for what he had to go through.

If you are suffering the same, why not find a name to your liking.
