As salam alaykoum wa ramatullah wa baraktu

I hope this message finds every sister and brother fine. Insha allah
May Allah protect us

I am here to learn more about our religion because we never stop to learn about islam.

I am convert to islam since soon 6 years al hamdulillah from a roman catholic background. Just got married couple of months ago al hamdullilah.

I just want to tell to the brother and sister who are not married to try to do their best to marry because this is a protection against many things. May Allah give good spouse to all of us.

Now for fun... :) I have a question for the non muslim...or may be for the muslims too...

If someone can tell me from which religion this sentence comes:

"whoever curses his father or his mother , he must be put to death.''

Islam,catholism or judaism?

I wish a nice day to everyone

salam alaykoum

PS; :-[ I'm sorry for the mistakes... My mother tongue is not english!

Sorry I forgot to ask you what is your mother tongue.

Also I want to tell you that I am always happy to see people with an open mind like you... There is too much "islam" phobia since 2001...

So with people like you in the society it is a good...

I hope you found muslims respectful too... :)

bye :statisfie

My first language is German.

I find Muslims pretty much like all other people: some are respectful, some not; some are tolerant, some not; some are friendly, some not.
Same applies to all other people from all other backgrounds and faiths/worldviews. :)

I find that our similarities and the humanity we share is much more important than our differences!

As for your Old Testament quote, I don't know if the point you are trying to make is that Biblical laws sound harsher than Islamic ones??
You may want to start a discussion thread in the Comparative Religion section - it would be interesting to read the thoughts and interpretations from other Christian and Jewish members on this particular verse ...

Peace

What you said is true.
About the old testament...I just wanted to show how much sometime people can have prejudice about islam because I heard this in the radio here in usa and most of the people were calling to say this is islam these are muslims... But they don't know their own religion... this is shameless...You believe in something just because your received by heritance... People are unfortunately influenced by the wrong information they get at the tv... By the way here most of the channel are own by the jews...

This is a good idea you had... :)
I will try to start a thread in another forum about this subject.

Thank you have a beautiful day

Salam Alaikum, welcome to Islam and the forum. :)

That quote is from Jewish scriptures and some Christian sects. And I see your point, its easy to take quotes out of context, people who do that are the ones looking for a scrapegoat to blame problems on.

Walaikum Salam.
