Sitting Prayer/Namaz?

i am just curious to know how the namaz prayer is performed when someone is unable to do the standing up/bending down etc.... When i was in Pakistan with my husbands family i seen his mother and elderly relatives doing this way sitting on a bed or in a chair.
Obviously i know this is only under certain circumstances, injuries, health etc...

ermm.. not really.. maybe i could give an example...
say if you had a leg injury.. you could walk, stand but limited, so to do the complete Salat when you have to be standing then going into ruku, bending then to kneeling down etc would be extremly difficult

or the case as i mentioned befor with elderly people who have arthritis or other conditions. I seen my husbands mother and father sometimes sitting in a chair performing Salat ( not all the time ) and his grandparents sitting on a bed doing Salat

So i was just wondering how someone would perform Salat while sitting in a chair etc...

Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Pray standing, and if you cannot, then sitting down, and if you cannot, then lying on your side.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1117.

if you can stand with no harm with no

pain

you can not ever pray sitting down

but you said

i heard the same thing but i also heard that u are able to sit down and pray the nafl. i am not sure of that, but thats wut i heard.
can someone plz check if that is right or not? thanks
