According to petplace.com 60% from the animals which enter in shelters are not coming out anymore. Don't call RSPCA, please. Someone will take them in next days. If do you wish to involve more, give a small announcement in the newspaper "two cute kittens, borned mouse killers, without mom, are looking after a warm home."
I wish I could agree with you, Tania, but I'm afraid I can't ...
These kittens have been around since they were born in the back alley 3 or 4 months ago, and nobody has taken responsibility for them.
I have put a notice in all the houses whose gardens back onto the alley (70 of them), asking people to let me know if anybody is prepared to take ownership of them. So far nobody has come forward. The deadline I gave was Sunday - on Monday I will call the RSPCA ...
The problem is, cute as they may be, they are
feral cats, they are wild and not used to be handled by humans. They come for food, but they will not be caught or touched. It may be too late for them
ever to be real pets.
Worse still, when they become fully grown cats, they will become a nuisance - stealing food from domestic cats, messing up people's gardens, and breeding
more wild cats ... that's no life for a cat in an urban environment. It just wouldn't be fair on them!
I take your point that they may never be housed, and that they may end up being put to death ... and that's a sad thought!

I just hope and pray that they will find a loving and caring home.
Cats like these can be homed on farms or in rural areas, where they can live semi-wild, but not become a problem. At the very least they will need to be neutered to prevent them from reproducing for evermore ...
I love watching them, and I am tempted to keep them myself ... but my husband is strictly against keeping them, and - to be honest - growing vegetables in my own garden I know all too well how much mess cats make in people's gardens.
Unfortunately, many people cannot afford to keep their cats ( and dogs) these days, and just abandon them. Therefore the problem of such animals living wild and fending for themselves without being cared for is becoming greater ...
I truly feel that my decision is made in the best interest for these two cute kittens.
If somebody
does claim them, I will let you know.
Like you, I hope that they will find a way to live a happy cat life!
