Speak proper English innit!

Assalamu Alaikum

ok not to sound harsh or anything, but whenever text is used that person sounds ehhhh uneducated, lazy, a wannabe, and uncessassarily trendistic. In the gender rooms, I think its fine, but out in the forums it makes us sound well...DUMB and hyper.

It's even worse when someone is trying to explain Islam.

Not to insult anyone here, but texters...you do all KIND of sound immodest/disrespectful .

There is no doubt in my mind that there are even more threads about this topic.

Seriously you guys, you waste our time trying to figure out what the heck ur saying to begin with, othertimes it just sounds disturbing/confusing.

So if you love us for the sake of Allah PLEEEEEEAAASE type properly so we don't have to continue making these threads all the time.

This has become a huge issue...and right now on this ISLAMIC forum, there is NO excuse to suffice.

May Allah forgive me if I have offended anyone inshallah.

the prophet saws had such beautiful speech, so mannered and clear, no-one had to ask him to repeat and im sure it was the finest. I wonder what the prophet saws would think of us speaking slang :? interesting thought really

If you are in the habit of speaking and writing properly, you will succeed in other areas, education, work and dawah.

i liked that a lot bro. Good speech is good manners, and manners completes imaan. Good speech is good conduct, and good conduct is 1/25 of prophethood (accordin to tirmizi hadith in miskaat)

really, that speech was great :)

But Anywayz...You Can't Be Too Fatalistic/Determinsitic Or Whatever Word It Is...We In No Way Know What The Future Holds...I Know This Use Of txt Language And Slang Limits Us Education Wise And Career Wise...But McDonalds? LOL :uuh: ;D

Some people including myself speak slang with their friends, but once you are in your class or working you are obviously NOT going to use slang!

Yeah I agree also...I mean come on...we're not the gentry here! :rollseyes....most of us go to normal schools. We are bound to pick up slang as we go along, but atleast know where to use and where not to use slang. That's all that's required. I mean if you use slang on MSN that's understandable...:rollseyes

It's the formatting he uses, you can use WYSWIG formatting it will capitalize automatically....

Have you heard the slang they speak? Now that's what you call proper slang. I mean PROPER cokney (I spelt it like that on purpose lol) accent.

I use to speak the slang, but I grew out of it. I can't speak that well if I try to do it conciousely, but it sometime it coe's back naturally.

Maybe not. Their is an age gap between us, and I am person who keep to myself alot. So you won't know me exactly from the street unless you grew up with me or lived in my area.
