:w:I am getting an average of 76% in all subjects and I want to improve to get 92% because high school determines whether you can get a scholarship or not. How do you study and what average% are you getting as you think?

Okay.......
1. dont leave studying to the last minutes, try to study day by day, if you cant do it daily then weekly

2. make sure that you understand what was explained in the class, if not dont delay it to the exam day, go and ask for the help as possible as you can especially if the next materials will depend on it.

3. the best way to insuring my understanding is writing after the teacher, the teacher explanation is enough in most cases

4. dont study when you dont have the desire.

5. if you are having a break from studying dont keep looking at your books or even staying at your studying place, that will make you hate the studying if its after you everywhere

6. if you have an exam lets say next week, try to study it one time before, like studying in the coming weekend to let you have an idea of what you will do in the real day of studying for the exam

Good tips from SAYA - especially number one.

One of my old professors gave me a tip for exams which I have never forgotten. It's really suited to essay type subjects rather than factual questions. Here is the advice:

Get angry about it. Get angry about the fact that you have to submit to the performance of doing an exam. Believe it or not, you nearly always write better when you're angry.

Although I'm not an angry or violent person, I used to love doing exams using this approach. I would imagine the exam as being almost like a fight between me and the examiner. I would prepare over a long period of time, gathering knowledge to make sure I wouldn't be beaten. Then, on the day of the exam, I would work myself up and walk in thinking "Do your worst, Mr. Examiner!"

I know this sounds like a strange method, but it always worked for me, and many students I've taught over the years have found it helpful too.

Totally correct in my case, I dont know why?
If I am angry, confused, scared, not very sure if I studied well or not......and all kinds of feeling,
I got better grade:confused: ^o)

while if I am soo relaxed and think that I studied very well before the exam in most cases.....it goes strange :-\
 
get a good nights sleep before it ^ dnt try to stay late studying it doesnt help specially when ur tired, your brain won't catch much of anything and u'll just succeed in getting yourself tired and exhausted before the exam/test day :)
 
When studying, keep the telly off and study on your own in a quiet place. Give yourself a break every 20 mins for 5 mins. If your stuck on something, move to the next thing and come back to it later.

I study after maghrib usually for2hrs and take a break for water etc. I study the textbook or pre tests we had.

my avg is in the 80's not 90's but heres some tips anywayz

I would suggest starting your homework earlier. If you learned a lesson that day go over it at home dont just ignore it until you need to study for a test.

-Always do homework, ask your teachers questions if you do not understand
-Make yourself a quick practice test

Also I notice a lot of people try to be perfect, just try your hardest and put your trust with Allah.

-STUDY IN THE MORNING!, I found that works good for me.

Ok I will try studying after Fajr. Is it true if you drink water 2 hours before a test you do better unit?
 
brother, I think 2 hours are not enough, let me ask you first, in which grade you are now?

one more thing. do you write notes after the teacher explanation, usually teachers explain the ambiguous thing in the book
the pre test are good but after you finish the main study from the materials you have like the book or the slides or whatever, pre test will be as a good revision to you.....

Do you study well on your own or group..

when I was at uni me and my class mates used to go through past papers and then take it in turns to write the answers on the board.
 
1. Stay away from the Internet. At least all things non-educational, yes msn is not educational!

2. Try to develop a good study environment. Study in a secluded area, at the library, in your room or somewhere where there aren't a lot of people to distract you. Even family members are guilty of this.

3. Do not procrastinate. This is probably one of the biggest problems I face, always telling myself, oh I'll do it tomorrow, geez the test is four days away, looooots of time to study! But before ya know it, it creeps up on you and BAM! you've only a few hours left til the exam, and you're nervously sweating as you flip through your 400pg text book trying to cram some facts.
 
well Bro the only advice that I can give you is that relax your mind(Salah helped me to achieve that) and if someting goes wrong I usually hit the table with my fist or hit my head with my fist( not recommended to do this btw or anyother stupid actions ), but what I do is relax my mind during my teachers lecture so that I can catch all the necessary key points of a particular Unit ( Still having trouble with Cyclotron though )
