My Christian friends find the adhaan extremely beautiful, I once played it to a close friend and she was lost for words, ma'sha'Allah, just something so beautiful about it.

Brother, no they are not - it comes into noise 'pollution' I believe. The debate sometimes becomes heated in the British community at times.
Although I think a mosque in London is allowed to broadcast its adhan aloud? I am not sure.
