[BANANA]When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.[/BANANA]
People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
Malcolm X said:There is nothing in our book, the Koran, that teaches us to suffer
peacefully. Our religion teaches us to be intelligent. Be peaceful, be
courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his
hand on you, send him to the cemetery. That's a good religion.
"Send him to the cemetery" may be an overly-harsh or poor choice of words for someone putting 'their hand on you', but it is true that Islam authorizes the controlled and just excercise of force in defence and when one's rights are being infringed, and that seems to be the idea he is trying to convey here.Hmm. Not sure about that.
What do others think? Is that a fair representation of Islam?
