let me share a poem written by a dear friend of mine ode to 'mothers'

Let the time go back in its flight,
Let me be a child again for a night,
Let me get a kiss on my forehead,
And let mother tuck me into my bed.
\Rock me mother, rock me to sleep,
Let me have your love to keep.
Let the time go back on its sorrow,
I'll wake up in your lap every tomorrow.
\How many seasons the grass has grown green,
The flowers blossomed and faded in between.
Come from the silence and rock me to sleep,
Take the pain that hovers away in my deep.
\Let the time go back on its hours of gold,
Let your smile fall on me now that I'm old.
Worried, caring and unselfish as you are,
Shine back on me mother, like a guiding star.
\I'm tired of a hollow world, so untrue,
O mother, my lonely heart calls for you.

my friend who wrote this poem died in April 2004...

By Allah, we have so much to be grateful for and truly we are all ungrateful.. anything in the body can go wrong at any moment.. and not many people appreciate the massive governing of all our body functions physiological, biological, biochemical, psychological and all in between..

May Allah swt grant this young man and his mother paradise' high meed...

I think whenever we lapse into self pity we need to watch one of these videos...

is the full supplication, thanking and giving all due prause to Allah for saving us from that which he has tried others with and privileged us above many of his creations...
