Al Imaam ‘Alee al Madeenee stated:

I studied the chains of narrations and found that they revolve around six individuals:
From the people of Madeenah:
  • Ibn Shihaab [az Zuhree]: Muhammad ibn Mulsim ibn ‘Abdullaah ibn Shihaab, his Kunya is Abu Bakr. He died in the year 124 H.
From the people of Makkah:
  • ‘Umar ibn Deenar, Mawlaa Jamh, his kunya is Abu Muhammad, he died in the year 126 H.
From the people of al Basrah:
  • Qataadah ibn Da’aamah as Sadoosee, his Kunya is Abul Khataab, he died in the year 117 H
  • Yahya ibn Abu Katheer, his Kunya is Abu Nasr, he died the in year 132 H.
From the people of al Koofah:
  • Abu Ishaaq [as Sabee’ee]; his name is ‘Amru ibn ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Ubayd, he died in 129 H.
  • Sulayman ibn Mahraan, Mawlaa of the people of Kaahil, his Kunya is Abu Muhammad, he died in the year 148 H. He was a handsome man, he was known as al ‘Amash.
