The Trouble With Atheism

Everyone is born an atheist, lacking any belief in Gods. Children are then programmed into their respective religions and other worldviews.

You can't believe in something you've never heard of. Babies may have an inate trust in authority figures, but that is "Mommy" more readily than it is "God".

i've wondered about this before:
i understand that islam views itself as "the one true religion" (which obviously means that all others are false) BUT -
does this automatically require you to be disrespectful of other religions and their followers?
i can't imagine that to be a good muslim, it is necessary to say things like "your relligion is malarky" "vile falacy" - is it?
are you required to demean others and say things that you would find very offensive and hurtful if they were said to you, about your religion?
somehow i doubt it very much.

wow! twisting words is becoming a specialty with you.

yet you are blind to or choose to ignore much. I promise to get back to your insult at the earliest oportunity I get as I can not afford to waste any time on you at the moment since I'm busy with some matters more pressing and urgent

what did i twist - these were the words used re: buddhism. but i wasn't just addressing you - i was responding to an attitude i see a lot of in this section.
i didn't mean to insult you - this is something i've wondered about for a long time. and i do not think islam teaches this type of attitude.
why not show the beauty of islam by being the best muslim you can possibly be? do you really think you will win reverts by demeaning other people's religions? they may be misguided in your eyes, but is this any reason to attack their religions? it is so unnecessary and i seriously doubt if islam requires that it be built up by tearing down others.
there are many good things about islam, why not stick to those?

scratch last post, even though you sound as old as me and wiser than me, I'd still like to explain the difference between a potential revert and and his/her opposite, but I really am pressed for time, will write about the matter later
