the use of right hand..

assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters i would like to know,a question we use the right hand to eat,and among others.
in islam the right hand is prohibid for hygiene,that means we use the left? i was just reading and it makes so much sense,but i would like someone to crarify this.

You are right brother we use the right hand to do things that are pure and we reserve the left to handle things that are impure. So when you're handing someone something, don't give it with your left hand hehe.

Presumably if your dominant hand is your right then you shouldn't do much heavy lifting or balancing with your left hand. Other than that there are no health hazards associated with use of the left.

I have a feeling that science will find something new about using the right hand. Our religion masha Allah, goes hand in hand with the scientific facts. :statisfie
 
What do left handed people do? I mean people who are naturally inclined to use their left hand for daily activities, such as writing, eating etc. Are they encouraged to train themselves to use the right hand instead?

This was done an awful lot in catholic schools in Ireland where priests and nuns would beat the "devil" out of left handed children by tieing their left hand behind their back and making them write with their right and if they did use their left they would be hit until they did use their right. It did not work and people who were subjected to that sort of thing ended up with terrible handwriting and no dominant hand.

Eat with the right hand but you can write with your left.
 
Coming from a lefty revert it is the hardest thing to do for me right now....How can one remember...then I feel bad when I take a bite with my left..but im a leftyimsad
 
God neither prefers right to left nor left to right! He is so just. Although we have to use right for pure things and left for purification, the right side of the body is controled by the left brain and the left side by the right brain. So our left brain is at work when we do pure things like eating and our right side of the brain is at work when we use the left hand, thus making things equal. Subhan-Allah (Allah is so High / Holy!) Thought I'd point this out.

Also, don't make left-handed children eat with right hand when they are so young as it affects the speech. Do this after the speech is wll developed.

I try to create a habit of using my right hand (i'm right-handed), but it was never an issue before reverting. Most Americans are taught to eat with both hands very early. By the time we reach adolescence, we play video games, type on the computer, and play musical instruments using both hands.
