Jazakallah for this awesome thread. Can't thank you much. I am looking forward to fasting on 9th and 10th of Mu7arram, I never fasted before. :)
 
I think the 10th Mu7arram will be on Thursday, December 17th. Can anyone confirm this?

I think the near hijri year starts on Tuesday. Is there anything special we should do for this day?!

ameen wa eyyaaka akh abdulmajid. akh yassouid; can't confirm yet, could be tomorrow or as u said tuesday inshaa Allah, Allaho a3lam. read the 5th fatwah on the first page.

It was proven from the Prophet (salla Allaho 3alayhi wasallam) that the best fasting after Ramadaan is fasting in the month of Muharram.

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (radiyAllaho 3anh) said: The Messenger of Allaah (salla Allaho 3alayhi wa sallam) said: “The best fasting after Ramadaan is the month of Allaah Muharram, and the best prayer after the obligatory prayer is prayer at night.” Narrated by Muslim, 1163.

the 1st of mu7arram will be next tuesday - 7 december - inshaa Allah which means that yawmu 3aashoora is on thursday 16 december. try to fast as much as u can this month bi ithnillah!

Urgent question- is it permissible to fast on all three days consecutively? (i.e. 9th, 10th and 11th?)
