There is an Arabic word كتب .It has different meanings in different verses of the Holy Quran which are following
1. To write
2. To ordain /prescribe
3. To note
4. To destine
5. To enroll

كتب, يكتب’كتابا،و كتابة (ن)

TO WRITE :

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ الْكِتَابَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَـذَا مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ

(2:79) So woe to their learned people, who WRITE the law with their own hands and then say to the people, "This is from Allah

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيْنٍ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُ

(2:282) O Believers, when you contract a debt for a fixed; *325 term, you should put it in WRITING

وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُ فِي الأَلْوَاحِ مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلاً لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍ

[007:145] And We WROTE for him on the Tablets the lesson to be drawn from all things and the explanation for all things]

وَلاَ تَسْأَمُوْاْ أَن تَكْتُبُوْهُ صَغِيرًا أَو كَبِيرًا

Do not neglect to reduce to WRITING your transaction for a specified term, whether it be big or small.

TO ORDAIN /PRESCRIBE /DECREE

وَابْتَغُواْ مَا كَتَبَ اللّهُ لَكُمْ

And seek what Allah has prescribed (made lawful ) for you (2:187) {Abdulla Abbas Nadvi)
and seek that which Allâh has ORDAINED for you (offspring), {Noble Quran}

قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلاَّ مَا كَتَبَ اللّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلاَنَا وَعَلَى اللّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ﴿9:51﴾

(9:51) Say to them, "Nothing (good or badcan befall us except that which Allah has DESTINED for us: Allah is our Guardian and the Believers should put their trust in Him alone."

كَتَبَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ

He has PRESCRIBED Mercy for Himself﴿6:12﴾

قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلاَّ مَا كَتَبَ اللّهُ لَنَا

[009:051] Say: "Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allâh has ORDAINED for us.
كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَأَغْلِبَنَّ أَنَا وَرُسُلِي إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ﴿58:21﴾

[058:021] Allâh has DECREED: "Verily, it is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious." Verily, Allâh is All-Powerful, All-Mighty

وَلَوْلَا أَن كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْجَلَاء لَعَذَّبَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا(59:3)

Had Allah not DECREED banishment for them, He would have chastised them in this world

وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ

(5:45) And therein We had ORDAINED for them: 'A life for a life, and an eye for an eye,
وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِي هَـذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَة
ِ
(7:156) And ORDAIN for us what is good in this world and in the World to Come
كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِصَاصُ

the lawn *176 of retribution has been PRESCRIBED for you in cases of murder; (2:178)

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ(2:183)

O Believers, the Fast has been made OBLIGATORY

TO RECORD

وَاللّهُ يَكْتُبُ مَا يُبَيِّتُونَ

Allah takes note (RECORDETH) of all their plots

إِنَّ رُسُلَنَا يَكْتُبُونَ مَا تَمْكُرُونَ﴿10:21﴾

Our angels are RECORDING all your intriguing.

وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَ﴿43:80﴾

and Our angels at their sides are RECORDING it.

وَلاَ يَنَالُونَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ نَّيْلاً إِلاَّ كُتِبَ لَهُم بِهِ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ

Nor gain they from the enemy a gain , but a good deed is RECORDED for them.(9: 120)

سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَادَتُهُمْ وَيُسْأَلُونَ﴿43:19﴾

Their evidence will be RECORDED and they will be called to account for it.


TO ENROLL:

فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ﴿3:53﴾

ENROLL us among those who witness

Just like to note that the translations are not often precise as the original word. One word often have different meanings depending on how it is used, this is same for many words in many languages. But more important, arabic is based on root words. There is often word from which all it's other words are dervived from.

For example, the kuffar, kuffaroon, kufr, etc all are dervived from the root word Ka Fa Ra.

and as for the translations, take the last one "to enroll", the translator has translated it to mean "enroll us among those who witness" where as others will translate it as "write us among those who witness", and I've seen more scholars and imaams use the latter than the former.

You are right I agree with you.This is the reason I have given the references.
I do not believe in talking without references.
As far as different scholars diagree on certain points ,that is true.
