I'm asking if you can quote the hadith that story is narrated in. That's usually standard operating procedure around here when providing proofs for something.

Sister easy now. Sorry if I am miss interpreting you but you seem to be angry at other muslims sometimes, sister they all love you for the sake of Allah, dont make enemies of your brothers and sisters we are united in our aknowledgement of the oneness of Allah, we are together, the weakness and conflict should lie beyond this. Peace sister

:sl:

He is not a 'typical born Muslim' not that I understand your implications, he is a convert.. do you want to take it easy sister?--- it is almost Ramadan, and one should be kind in his speech with other Muslims, and if they err to correct them in private or remain silent!

The Prophet said: 'Teach the people and give them glad tidings. Do not make things difficult. And if you get angry, remain silent.' (Musnad Ahmad, Musnad al-Tayâlisî, and al-Adab al-Mufrad Bukhârî)

48:29 ------ strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other

I'll just do some research on my own I guess and see what Shaykh Google turns up. I'm not doubting you, I just have never heard this story before so I would like to look it up.

Let's just prepare for Ramadan as peacefully as we can. This section will be closed in a matter of days anyways, insha'Allah.

2:226 Those who take an oath that they will not approach their wives shall have four months of grace; and if they go back [on their oath] - behold, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

Just so when you are leeching from your evangelists websites, have them correct it for God's sake, just so you are not publicly humiliated, or do yourself a favor and check it against the Quran

I thought that it was a mistake he made, but now it seems he is copying from somewhere.

What made you think that he was doing his own homework? It is precisely why I asked him to bring it on.. because I knew exactly where he'd bring it on from.
It is pitiful and belaboring after a while, I debate with myself whether to reply back at all, but then truth be told, I do enjoy those moments of their public expose.. except they lick their wounds and come back the next day completely unfazed of their public mishaps..

No one is getting smart with you. But you cite something that it appears no one here has heard of before. You say it is in a book. But we don't know that book either. I could publish a book and title it "Why Music Is Halal." I could write in it all sorts of things. The fact that it is in a book doesn't make it true any more than finding things on the internet makes it true. So, people are asking for the source of the information you provided.

If the book is basing its claim on a passage of the Qur'an or Hadith, then giving that will help us. If it is of the author's own writing, research or interpretation, then that would be good to know as well.

Since it appears that no one is familiar with the book, perhaps you could either provide a link to it or give us some sort of bibliographic citation (title, author, publisher, copyright date) so that we could investigate it for ourselves.

Don't be so quickly put off by those who request a source. There could be many reasons: they might be intrigued by the information and wish to read more; they might have been looking for something along the line of what you provided and wish to obtain it for themselves; they might have doubts as to its credibility and wish to double-check it; they just might wish to know the authenticness of the story related or the authority behind it. Knowing the source of what you shared can be helpful with each of these things, and all the more so when the story you related presents a novel reasoning to our own experience and understanding.

to be honest with you i was never using forums before and since i started using so i came across alot of ignorance from other muslims and i have spoken with many different personalities and i was disgusted with there behaviour and how they spoke to eachother. some of them trying to be a scholar or talking bad about other scholars who are highly educated...

from my own opinion the people who come on a forum all the time, its hard to belive most of them are guided.. i notice that some of them are trying there hardest to make others iman weak with there nonsense i was never one to get angry before

i always stayed quite but to be honest sister i am not happy how some muslims are responding to eachother here also, i have came across one or two but thats about it.. i like this forum alot. i think its the best but you can ask for a source in a nice manner.. i won't say anymore.
btw i will look for that book, its around here somewhere so i can give some info on it.

salaam

Just on the issue of slavery, it is a VERY LARGE section of sharia, it is not incidental. Secondly, If Islam was so enlightened then why was it that Islamic countries were the LAST to renounce slavery and for Saudi Arab only in the 1960s some 200 years after almost everyone else.

But my point was this LARGE section of sharia is antiquated, no longer needed, a museum piece, the institution of slavery no longer exists. That is what I am asking since YOU claim there are no antiquated laws in Islam - unless you want to see it back again?

will reply to everyone in a more details in a bit..
sr. CatEyes.. pls forgive me if I didn't meant to be harsh with you.. I certainly appreciate your contribution and hope you join us in Ramadan insha'Allah...

I am truly curiouos as to why muslims don't study and critique the formation/compilation of the Quran and hadith the way they do they Holy Bible.

Is it because you are afraid you are attacking Allah's words?

Are you worried that you are questioning Mohammad's behavior?

I don't know who abolished slavery when, Islam is very clear on the matter given my previous post. Saudi Arabia didn't even exist until recently, so whether they renounced it or not is inconsequential as they don't follow proper shari'a state.. most so-called Islamic countries govern by French, Dutch, or British constitution of whatever country they came under its imperialistic laws.. also, 'renouncing' slavery and actually acting on that renunciation are two very separate issues.. it wasn't 50 yrs ago that .Ms. Rosa Parks was asked to give up her seat to a white guy even though she was sitting in the 'colored' section...
let's compare that with the Islamic stance:
This universal brotherhood preached by Islam was championed by the Prophet’s Companions after him. When the Companion, Ubada bin as-Samit, led a delegation to Muqawqis, the Christian patriarch of Alexandria, the latter exclaimed: ‘Get this black man away from me and bring in his stead another to talk to me! ... How can you be content that a black man should be the foremost among you? Is it not more fitting that he be below you?’ ‘Indeed no!’, Ubada’s comrades replied, ‘Though he is black as you see, he is still the foremost among us in position, intelligence and wisdom; for black is not despised among us.’
“Truly, the Believers are but brothers...” (Quran 49:10)

We've no antiquated laws, that is your conclusion which has no ground work in Islam..

all the best
