Before the sun rises, an 18-year-old college student wakes up in his dorm, trying not to wake his roommate up as he makes wudu and prays quietly in the corner.
While the sun is stretched out in the sky, a young woman hurries down the hall, trying to find an empty conference room to pray Dhuhr in before her next business call.
An 81-year-old man wakes up his wife from her late afternoon nap so that they can pray Asr together, just as they have for the past 20 years.
Two little kids- twins- trip over their own feet trying to make sujood, trying as hard as they can to follow the motions of their parents, who are praying Maghrib together.
A tired mom prays Isha in her room before she goes to sleep- it's been a long day, and this time is for her and Allah, the One who knows her best.
Every single day, within the same range of time, millions of Muslims from all over the world pause what they are doing and make their way to their offices, rooms, corners, classrooms, staircases, parking lots, musallahs, living rooms...
... and their days transform. Suddenly, the day is no longer defined by the various tasks that need to get done, or all the work and responsibilities that are piling up. Instead, this moment, this prayer, is for the One to whom we owe everything.
This moment is for Allah. Do we do it justice?
