Mostly all I watch on tv is sports (espn) especially basketball. There is no haram (I think) in this, but it takes your time up, I gain nothing by watching this.

this is an amazing article. its just ironic how I stumbled on this... because i have been trying not to watch television and it has been going on for a few months now. And its not that easy when your whole entire family watches it and you watched it for family bonding, but its for allah. It's just hard when you have sin everywhere around you especially in america, People find new ways to do sin, it's the work of the evil cursed one... but as long as I have my lord im sure i'll be fine. thanks for posting this. may allah reward you

I like the first post. It's deep mashaaAllaah, and so true. JazaakAllaah Khayr for sharing!

Quality Family Time?Television is a big part of society today. 98 percent of homes in America contain at least one TV set, and a third of all homes contain two or more television sets. Parents come home after a hard day’s work and sit down in front of their TV, in lieu of sitting down with their families. Hour after hour, day after day, this endless cycle of “TV therapy” continues. Kids learn these habits from their parents. In a year, the average child spends 1023 hours in front of a TV—more than the 900 hours they spend in school!
