Assalamu Alakium,
In this article “Turn off TV, Turn on life” on Young Muslims Canada website, there are major concerns about what going on with each other as Muslim. For instance, in this article it mentioned about someone facing in front of the Television and with the remote in his or her hands start channel surfing to see what’s more important in their life? Another person who watches a movie that contains haram things like nudity, sexuality, violence, coarse language, adult situations and mature subject matter. The next one watches some entertainment that sees men and women wearing scantily clad clothing, also another person watches music videos that contain rude, sexism, gross, profane and foul language and love and hate. These are examples that affect an individual and therefore loss lack of energy, hurting their eyes, ruining their lives and not feeling too good about their health.
So instead of watching too much TV that Shaytan wants you to do, try to help clean up around the house like vaccuming, reading the Holy Quran, continuing praying five times a day, reading Islamic Books, Playing sports with siblings nor friends, go for a walk neither yourself or family, go to mosque to pray any one of the daily prayers as well as Islamic Lectures and other special conferences, plan to go on a vacation and try to watch as least some Islamic show neither on TV or radio.
