'Angels were created from light, Jinn were created from smokeless fire, and Adam was created from that which has been described to you...' (Muslim)
The existence of a world parallel to our own is something people have always found fascinating. As Muslims, believing in the 'unseen' is a fundamental constituent of our faith.
The World of Angels: (Jalal Ibn Sa'eed)
'For each (person) there are angels in succession in front of him and behind him, who guard him by Allah's command.' (Qur'an 13:11)
Muslims of today largely conceptualise angels according to western ideas, often forgetting the deeper purpose of this great creation of Allah Azza-wa-Jal. In this lecture, we explore what is so unique about this creation that Allah in His infinite wisdom has chosen to make them a pillar out of the six pillars of Imaaan. We also investigate the very role of Angels in a Muslim's every day life and how indeed increasing our knowledge about them will aid us coming closer to Allah (swt).
The World of Jinns: (Abu Suhaib Bassaam Alee)
'Say (O' Muhammad): It has been revealed to me that a group of Jinn listened and said; 'Indeed we have heard a marvellous Qur'an. It guides unto righteousness so we have believed in it, and we will never associate partners with our lord'' (Surah Al-Jinn - 1-2)
Many people of the modern times are involved in the misunderstanding that the Jinn are not real, but only a figment of the ancient superstition and myths. Many people also tend to have a warped understanding of what exactly Jinns can and cannot do. Throughout this discourse, Shaykh Abu Suhaib presents the correct understanding and viewpoint of Ahlussunnah on commonly spoken about issues such as exorcisms, infiltrations and addresses many of the misconceptions prevalent amongst our communities. The shaykh will conclude with providing practical advise on how to protect yourself from their plotting.
