The US is completely lopsided in the other direction and yet the UK and US are allies. Interesting..........
What made you change your mind?Until yesterday (15.01.2009), I was still supporting two states solution (in accordance to pre-1967 war border). But today I'm thinking to change my view.... Palestinians deserve their homeland from the river to the sea...
Nothing as far as Israel is concerned. But I wouldn't call it nothing, at least Israel would know mass opinion is going against their actions. And there is hadith tell us to do everything we can even if it is just voicing opinion. So if it turns out that majority of people will vote that Israel didnt have right to attack Gaza, what happens then...?
But there are 38,000 people from USA support Palestine... 20,000 more votes than UK...
and surprisingly 6,000 people from Israel voted for Palestine
What made you change your mind?
What I meant by lopsided in the other direction is that the US only has 40,000 votes for the Philistines and 170,000 for Israel. The US government is an ally of the UK and the UK has far more votes for the Philistines that Israel. How is it that both governments are supposed to be in agreement with each other on policy in the Middle East when the people of those in power are largely against what their governements stand for. The governement say one thing....the people say another. In a democracy, the government are supposed to represent the people but when push comes to shove here in the very near future, after President Obama's inaguration, the US will be forced to make a stand along with the UK--and especially if the violence escalates, which I anticipate it will do--and how is it that the President and Prime Minister of two allied countries will defend Israel when the people are voting for Palestine? Countries divided against themselves will not stand for long.

Settlers would of course have to be evicted. When Mahmud Abbas said about how Palestine would achieve independent if there are Israeli settlers in Hebron, which is a Palestinian town.... it really struck to my mind like... yeah.. if Israel is so serious to give Palestinian a state why there are israeli settlements dotting all over the places inside the West Bank... what would happen to the Israeli district of Judea and Samaria?
What kind of a state Palestine would be.. as it still would be controlled by the Israel.. inside its territory ... and for sure Israel would still control Jordan River....
Israel is not so serious about giving a total independence to the Palestinians... so why bother to dream about two states solution...
sorry....
