Okie I've got this new craze wanna learn sylheti and bug a frnd of mines :p

How many sylheti's to we have here??

Can I guys teach me the basic stuff ?

upset / sad - bezar. (bechara?)

cheeky lil monkey - hmm... betomeezi suto bandor? (or bandorni if adressing female)

take good care, love ya - kyal rakyo , ( dunno how to say love ya tbh never use it)

miss ya - dunno lol

and yep you add ami so its ami heran



and dhuuro is a veeeeery common word.

litally its duur oo which means be far lol every bengali uses it
 
Nope bechara is something else in urdun bezar in Urdu means wen ur sick n tired of something.

Lol the Ami thing reminded me of sum thing there r a lot of eto's is Spanish rite n someone pointed towards the lamp n said what's tht n someone said lampeto n the lady was like adding 'eto' to a word doesn't make it Spanish :p

N how do say silly in sylheti I use that word a lot.

And what kind of words do u guys use in ur daily life.

In order to learn a language one has to learn some vocab.
 
for silly i use fossi a lot.

i gave u a lot of what i use but what else hmm...

fit,tham ni? - want some beats ( use this on the young ones lol)

zairamgi - im going

dong khorram - just joking

kitha khairai? - what you eating (common one for me )
 
my mum just used this one on me LOL

laath marthamni aya? - want me to kick you? (common one for her )

Yes I still do we migrated no gng back now.

Hmm in don't know buh the bd embassy is not far from my house I pass by it everyday n see a lot of ppl out side never met any Bengali over here.
 
your very blessed to know urdu though. its the second richest language for islamic literature. i envy you mashallah
 
Really?? I srsly am lucky then Cuz I'm the only one in my family who attempted the gce o levels Urdu paper my siblings were exempted. N I got an A grade in that :) I started learning Urdu from the 9th grade n gave the paper the Nxt year was scary buh Alhumdulilah my teacher just couldn't believe it. I still dont know how to write much I can read though Alhumdulilah I bought a really fat dictionary for that purpose translates Urdu to eng and English to Urdu.
 
my teacher is an exoert in urdu and has read countless islamic urdu literature. if you want i can get a few recommendations ?

aft learning arabic im going to naster urdu inshallah then if able farsi as farsi is also rich
 
Please do would love to read. Urdu is amazing its sad kids ova here hate it.
